Depart on your scheduled flight to Shanghai, the financial capital of China and dynamic city of greater splendor. Meals and snacks will be served on the plane.

Arrive in Shanghai. You will be met by your Shanghai tour guide. Transfer to your hotel for a 2-nights’ stay.

After breakfast, visit the world-renowned Shanghai Museum, a museum of ancient Chinese art. After lunch, visit the City God Temple of Shanghai. It is a temple in the old city of Shanghai and is today’s central feature of a large retail and entertainment district. .We will also visit Yu Garden, a traditional Chinese park decorated by beautiful pavilions, miniature lakes, bridges and rockeries. It is not only a famous classical garden in South China, but also a major historic and cultural site under state protection. Then stroll along the Bund. Located along the Huangpu River, the Bund shows off Shanghai’s outstanding foreign buildings, most of which were erected before 1937. After dinner, take a Cruise along the Huangpu River.

Day 04: June 27 Thu

Shanghai - Beijing - Chengde

After breakfast, transfer to the airport and take a flight to Beijing. Drive directly to Jin Shan Ling Section of the Great Wal (round trip cable car) and you will have free time to explore the most amazing man-made structure in the world. Then transfer to Chengde to check in hotel and have a rest.

After breakfast, a whole trip in Chengde including the Summer Resort, the Buddhist Temple and the Mini Potola Palace (replica of the Tibetan Potala Palace). Overnight at Chengde.

Day 06: June 29 Sat

Chengde - Beijing

We will drive back to Beijing in the morning. Upon arrival, tour the Summer Palace (including boat ride), former summer retreat for the imperial family during the late Qing Dynasty and now China’s largest and best-preserved royal garden. Tonight’s dinner features China’s famous Peking duck.

Day 07: June 30 Sun

In the morning, we’ll walk around Tiananmen Square, probably the largest and most magnificent public square in the world. Explore the Forbidden City, the largest and most well-preserved imperial palace whose vast and exotic grandeur was brilliantly captured in the movie The Last Emperor. Continue to visit Hutong family; then step back in time as you take Rickshaw ride for a behind-the-scene tour of the Hutongs, the ancient lanes in the old residential area of Beijing. If time permit, Xiushui shopping is arranged. Enjoy the Acrobatic Show after dinner.

Beijing – Xi’an

In the morning, the Temple of Heaven; widely regarded as the noblest example of religious architectures in all of China, it was the site where emperors came to worship heaven for a bountiful harvest. Then fly to Xi’an. Upon arrival, enjoy the Tang Dynasty Show and Dumpling Banquet tonight.
Please note clients can keep the big luggage in Xi’an hotel and just take the hand bag to Luoyang.

Day 09: July 02 Tue

Xi’an - Luoyang

In the morning, take a train to Luoyang. Visit the White Horse Temple. Known as the first temple of Chinese Buddhism, its history can be dated back to 1900 years ago. In 64 AD, the Emperor Mingdi of the Eastern Han Dynasty dispatched envoys to the Western Regions to make a courtesy call for Buddhism. Three years later, the envoys and two great Indian monks returned to Luoyang with scriptures and Buddha statues which were carried back by white horses. In the next year, the emperor ordered to build a temple in Luoyang and named White Horse Temple to enshrine the services of the white horses.

Visit Shaolin Temple. It is the most reputable and longest standing temple in China. The temple is the ancestor court of Zen and the birthplace of the Shaolin Kung Fu that has become the treasures of Chinese martial arts after perfecting from generation to generation. Now the Shaolin Temple has become the only tourist destination for Zen and Martial Arts training.

Luoyang - Xi’an

Visit the Longmen Grottoes. The construction of the Longmen Grottoes began in 493 during the reign of Emperor Xiaowen and continued through the successive six dynasties, including Tang and Song, for a span of over 400 years. Altogether there are 1,352 caves, 785 niches, more than 97,000 statues of the Buddha, Bodhisativas, and Arhats, and 3,680 inscribed stone tablets along the 1-km-long cliff of Mt. Longmen.
In the afternoon, take fast speed train to Xi'an.

After breakfast, visit Banpo Neolithic Site. It is the largest and most complete preservation of the matriarchal clan commune village sites, since 6,000 years of history. After lunch, visit the one of the most exciting archaeological finds of the 20th Century - the more than 6,000 of excavated Terracotta Warriors.
